Background: I grew up in Richmond, VA and attended Douglas Southall Freeman High School. My photography teacher, Mr. Gilmore was a major inspiration to me so after high school graduation, I enlisted as a Combat Correspondent/Public Affairs Officer, and photojournalist in United States Marine Corps. I went to school in M.D. for a little over a year and was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, S.C. My primary role was a photojournalist and editor of our base paper, The Jet Stream. Four years later, I returned to Richmond and started a small construction business and a night club security team. I was recently involved in two serious motorcycle accidents and fell extremely lucky and grateful to be alive. Everyday is a Blessing! I currently work at Capital One full-time and attend VCU in the evenings. I am passionate about everything I do and feel this blogging project has really helped me to realize that it’s ok to publish your ideas even if you haven’t had time to edit and re-edit. Project 54 helped me rediscover my self-confidence needed to express myself to others in a way that I didn’t even know existed. So here’s to blogging, it turns out blogging is not just for nerds!
